Terms of Reference

1. With the Bishop’s Director of Training and Discipleship, to gather as representatives to enact and enable the work of Theological Education, Formation and Christian Discipleship in the diocese.
2. To work with the Bishop’s Director of Training and Discipleship in maintaining, and developing the partnership with St Mellitus College, London, for the training of ministers in God’s church.
3. To work with the Bishop’s Training and Discipleship Officer in enacting and enabling the delivery of such courses of Theological Education as the bishop shall approve for the training of ministers in God’s church.
4. To provide and promote diocesan wide Theological learning (under the banner of “The Thomas and Winifred Nisbett Lectures in Biblical Studies”)
5. To support parishes of the diocese in teaching and nurturing believers, by reviewing and providing resources for Baptism and Confirmation Preparation, Christian Discipleship groups, and other Christian development programmes.
6. To ensure that the Anglican Church of Bermuda’s training and discipleship programmes remain consistent and up-to-date with best practice in the Anglican Communion as directed by the Anglican Primates.
