Occasions

We are here to help you journey through the special moments in life.

Weddings

In the Anglican Church, we do not just want to invest in your wedding day, we want to invest in you as a couple. Check out these words from the Marriage Service:

"Marriage is a gift of God in creation through which the couple may know the grace of God. It is given that as they grow together in love and trust, they shall be united with one another in heart, body, and mind."

We are able to offer weddings, blessings, and renewal of vows both within our Church buildings and at other venues.

Funerals

You may be finding it difficult to think of all the things that need to be done when a close relative has died. With regards to the funeral, there are a number of things to be considered including burial or cremation. The usual starting place for advice would be a local undertaker. The details will then be organised between the undertaker and your local or family church. The minister conducting the funeral will arrange to visit you and they will guide you through how to arrange the service and how to make the best choices.

Before the funeral and afterwards, The Anglican Church of Bermuda is here to help.

Christian Initiation

Baptisms

Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the rest of our lives and is the first step in response to God’s love. It is a joyful moment when we rejoice in what God has done for us in Christ, making serious promises and declaring the faith.

Thanksgivings

Thanksgivings are an opportunity to give thanks for a child and where the parent(s) or carer(s) would like the child, when they are old enough, to make their own choice to follow Jesus Christ, or the parent(s) or carer(s) feel they are not ready or able to make promises on their child's behalf.

Confirmations

Confirmation is when a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized and commits to following Jesus Christ. The bishop lays their hands on the candidates head and asks God’s Holy Spirit to give them the strength and commitment to live God’s way.
