St. Mark’s Church Membership
Membership of an Anglican Church in this context means being on the electoral roll, called a Membership Roll. This is important if you wish to hold any office or responsibility within the church (for example, be a eucharistic minister or member of vestry), or to vote or have a say at the church Annual General Meeting. The Membership Roll is renewed every three years.
According to the Laws of the Anglican Church of Bermuda, you may become a ‘member’ of St. Mark’s Church if you meet the following criteria:
- baptised
- have attained the age of eighteen years
- currently participate in in-person public Sunday worship on a regular basis*
- commit to supporting St. Mark’s Church to the best of one’s ability
- are not on the Membership Roll of another church or parish
*Regular means that you attend Sunday worship at least six times per year or once every two months.
Having a connection with St. Mark’s through family or a historical connection does not qualify you to be on the electoral roll, but does not negate your association and value to the church!
