Becoming a ‘better’ Christian is not an arduous work, but the result of simply spending time hanging out with the biggest influencer of all time — Jesus.

The book of James is an interesting little book at the back of your Bible and takes about ten minutes or so to read. Hopefully this Insight will unpack some of the broader themes from the book and how they apply to our lives.

God wants us to be the best version of ourselves and be filled with God’s Holy Spirit, the Spirit of love — to be the wonderfully diverse, inclusive, accepting, welcoming, and loving people God has called us to be.

We are not meant to face life on our own, valiantly ‘soldiering on’ in our own strength, but be members of a wonderful army of love that brings about peace and healing in a hurting world.

We face an unprecedented global crisis, however, guided by the Holy Spirit of God, each of us can be part of a global answer.

We all have a deep longing to be satisfied, content, and fulfilled, however, we often look for it in the wrong places.

In a previous message, I focused on the first of Jesus’ commandments — how we should love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and in this message I would like to explore the second commandment which is to love our neighbours as ourselves.
