Bishop Nick writes: “Since my return, I have been in discussion with Bishop Lambe, who in turn has been in discussion with the Premier’s office about holding a National Day of Mourning for our community this coming Tuesday, 30th July…(when local faith institutions will be) open for prayers for our community in solidarity with those who are grieving as a result of the recent deaths in the Island.”

Consequently, as a faith community, we cannot be withdrawn or casual with this sweeping reality. In prayer, we listen to hear what the Lord may say and do for us all; and what the Lord may inspire us to do next.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2 NRSV).
